According to TÜİK's 2025 Birth Statistics, Turkey's fertility rate fell to 1.42, while a video shared on social media drew attention. A 32-year-old married woman said that in order to have a child, health and private school costs must be covered and a vacation must be taken twice a year.
According to the 2025 Birth Statistics published by TÜİK, Turkey's total fertility rate continued its decline in recent years. The fertility rate, which remained below the replacement level of 2.10, fell to 1.42, while the number of live births was recorded as 895,374 in the past year.
LISTED CONDITIONS FOR HAVING A CHILD
In this context, a video by a 32-year-old married woman listing her conditions for having a child quickly became a trending topic. In the video, the woman stated, "Health and private school fees should be covered," and also demanded at least two 10-day holidays per year.
