RESPONSE TO IRAN'S "US BASES ARE OUR TARGET" STATEMENT
The post drew attention as it came after Iran's statement that "places with US bases are our targets" and the attacks on US bases in Gulf countries.
MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE HAS EMPHASIZED BEFORE
The Ministry of National Defense had previously stated in a weekly press briefing that "All facilities at Incirlik belong to the Republic of Turkey." The statement included, "Incirlik is a Turkish base. Our 10th Main Jet Base Command, which operates under the Command of the Air Force in Eskişehir, is located in Adana Incirlik. Our 10th Main Jet Base Command has our F-16 fleet, tanker fleet, and UAVs. The ownership, along with all its facilities, belongs to the Republic of Turkey. The base commander is our Turkish Brigadier General. The presence of American soldiers there does not mean it is an American base. There are also military personnel from Spain, Poland, and Qatar present there."
IRAN IS TARGETING
Iran continues to target US military bases located in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq in the Gulf region with ballistic missiles and drones.
