Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent early-stage prostate cancer treatment and has fully recovered, it was announced. The small tumor detected after his surgery in 2024 was reportedly eliminated through radiotherapy, and his health condition is stated to be good. Netanyahu said the announcement was kept secret to avoid propaganda during wartime.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has undergone early-stage prostate cancer treatment and his health condition is reported to be good. The information was disclosed to the public for the first time through an official health report published by the Prime Minister's Office.

TREATMENT SUCCESSFUL

According to the annual health report dated April 20, 2026, the 76-year-old Netanyahu underwent surgery on December 29, 2024, due to benign prostate enlargement. Following the successful operation, a suspicious lesion smaller than 1 millimeter was detected in the prostate during routine check-ups.

Further tests determined this to be early-stage prostate cancer. It has been reported that Netanyahu underwent radiotherapy treatment and the lesion has completely disappeared.

“MY HEALTH IS GOOD”

The report emphasized that the treatment was “completely successful,” stating that no evidence of cancer was found in subsequent imaging and tests. Netanyahu stated in a statement, “The prostate cancer detected at a very early stage has been completely treated. My health and physical condition are currently very good.”

WHY WAS THE ANNOUNCEMENT DELAYED?

Netanyahu also addressed the reason for the two-month delay in disclosing information about his health. He said the announcement was postponed to prevent it from being used as propaganda material during the ongoing war with Iran.
