A monetary fine for the school principal who harassed a female employee: He has managed to be acquitted every time.

In the Kozan district of Adana, the school principal, who was accused of harassing a woman working at the school via messages, was fined 2,240 lira. It was decided that the fine would be paid in installments. The woman who was harassed reacted by saying, "I would have wanted him to receive a harsher punishment. My family and I have suffered for a year. Did someone else have to suffer more for him to receive a heavier sentence? He has had many cases before, but somehow he managed to be acquitted."

A woman working at a school in the Kozan district of Adana was fined 2,240 lira for allegedly harassing the school principal via messages, and it was decided that this amount would be paid in 4 installments. The young woman who was harassed reacted to the decision, stating that he should receive a harsher punishment.

HE STARTED HARASSING THE YOUNG WOMAN WITH MESSAGES

K.E. (37), a mother of three, filed a complaint on October 25, 2023, claiming that she was harassed by school principal İrfan S. through messages. Following the complaint, an investigation was launched against the principal, but he was released to be tried without detention. The principal faced charges of "harassment via messages" and appeared for the verdict hearing at the 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance.

HE WILL PAY 2,240 LIRA IN 4 INSTALLMENTS

It was noted that school principal İrfan S. sent messages to the young woman saying, "Don't show your loneliness, I am lonely too, I can come out," and wrote under a photo he shared with his wife on social media, "I can't stand seeing you with your husband." The court ruled that since the harassment was carried out using communication tools, he would first receive a judicial fine of 135 days, which was later reduced to 112 days due to the defendant's clean record, and he was ordered to pay a total fine of 2,240 lira, 20 lira for each day, in 4 installments.

"DID SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE NEED TO BE MORE AFFECTED?"

K.E. reacted to the light sentence, saying, "The trial process was difficult for me. He received a 112-day fine. I was very surprised that it was in installments. There could have been a prison sentence. There should have been a prison sentence without an installment fine. I started a legal struggle because I believe I am right. I would have preferred a harsher punishment. My family and I have been worn out for a year. Did someone else's life need to be more affected for him to receive a harsher punishment? My husband and family supported me, but it was constantly discussed for a year, and it was a very exhausting and sad period psychologically. An educator should not behave this way. All parents entrust their children to this educator. He has had many cases before, but somehow he managed to clear his name."
