The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that a significant regulation has been made regarding the transaction limits of the FAST system, which enables instant money transfers 24/7. According to the statement, the upper limits for FAST transaction amounts will be increased as of August 26, 2026.

NEW LIMIT SET AT 300 THOUSAND TL

The FAST system, which was launched by the Central Bank on January 8, 2021, and quickly became a strong alternative to cash and card payments, has undergone a limit update in line with the intense interest of users and the changing needs of the payment ecosystem. With the new decision, the current upper limit of 100 thousand liras applied to standard money transfers and transactions carried out through the Request to Pay layer service will be raised to 300 thousand liras.

QR CODE PAYMENTS ALSO UPDATED

The aforementioned limit increase was expanded to cover not only standard money transfers but also commercial transactions. The current transaction limit of 250 thousand liras for dynamic verified merchant payments made using the FAST-TR QR code, which is rapidly spreading in commercial life and shopping, will also be standardized and raised to 300 thousand liras. These new transaction limits, which will allow individual and commercial users to complete high-amount transfers within seconds, will officially start being applied in the system as of August 26, 2026.
