With the decision of the Ministry of National Education, the requirement for school emblems has been reinstated on school uniforms ahead of the new academic year starting on September 14. Evaluating the decision, TOKÜSFED Vice President Mustafa Erçin stated that the practice will increase security and discipline in schools, and that ready-made products with emblems will save parents an extra tailor cost of 250 TL.

The new academic year, which millions of students and parents have been eagerly awaiting, begins on September 14. With the latest regulation by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) on school uniforms, the requirement for emblems on uniforms has been reinstated. Mustafa Erçin, Vice President of the Federation of School Uniform Manufacturers and Sellers of Turkey (TOKÜSFED), stated that the decision is extremely positive both in terms of security and economy.

With the new regulation published by the Ministry of National Education on July 22, the use of emblems on school uniforms has been made mandatory again. Evaluating the implementation, TOKÜSFED Vice President Mustafa Erçin emphasized that the new decision will increase security in schools and that parents will be spared tailor costs thanks to ready-made embroidered products.

"SECURITY AND DISCIPLINE IN SCHOOLS WILL INCREASE WITH THE EMBLEM"

Drawing attention to the various problems experienced in the field during the previous practice of plain uniform freedom, Mustafa Erçin stated that the Ministry took a very correct step with the new regulation and said: "With the emblem becoming mandatory on school uniforms, order, harmony, and discipline have come to the forefront again in our schools. This has provided additional security to our schools. Additionally, our schools will continue to be able to choose the model they want, provided they change their uniforms at least once every 4 years."

"READY-MADE EMBROIDERED PRODUCTS ARE MORE ADVANTAGEOUS FOR PROTECTING THE PARENT'S BUDGET"

Reminding that parents can purchase uniforms suitable for their budgets from any store they wish, Erçin stated that buying the emblem ready-sewn is a budget-friendly option. Referring to the cost of having an emblem added to a plain uniform later, Erçin said: "When our parents buy a plain-colored uniform and want to have an emblem sewn on it later, they have to pay a separate fee for both the emblem and the tailor. This means an extra cost of at least 200 to 250 lira under today's conditions. However, in stores, the difference between uniforms with the official emblem ready-sewn and those without an emblem is at most 50 lira. Therefore, choosing ready-made embroidered uniforms is much more advantageous for our parents."

"ALL PRODUCTS ARE 100 PERCENT DOMESTIC"

Reporting that school uniform manufacturers have largely completed their preparations before September 14, Mustafa Erçin concluded his statements by emphasizing the domestic nature of the sector: "Before the new academic year, our school uniform production has been completed by 80 to 90 percent. The school uniform sector is a 100 percent domestic and national sector. From its fabric to its buttons, from its zippers to its subcontractors, from its suppliers to its store employees, everything is sourced from the domestic market. No imported products enter. The abundance of this domestic production directly reflects positively on our country's economy."
