Hours are left until Ramadan, the first pre-dawn meal will be held tonight. Citizens are in a shopping frenzy. Those who want to meet their needs completely are going from market to market. The ministry has implemented a practical application to make things easier for the public. Nearly 50,000 products have been gathered in a single system on the platform marketfiyati.org.tr. Thanks to the barcode scanning feature, price checks can be done in seconds in front of the shelves.
The Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, stated that "marketfiyati.org.tr," which makes market prices transparent and accessible, strengthens transparency in shopping by bringing together price information for nearly 50,000 products on a single platform, providing the opportunity for accurate and quick comparisons.
Kacır provided information about the application that allows citizens to compare prices before Ramadan in a post he shared on social media.
GREAT CONVENIENCE FOR CITIZENS
Pointing out that the "Market Price" application, developed last year by TÜBİTAK in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Trade, and the Central Bank, continues to provide convenience for citizens, Kacır noted:
http://marketfiyati.org.tr strengthens transparency in shopping by bringing together price information for nearly 50,000 products on a single platform, offering the opportunity for accurate and quick comparisons. Our mobile application also allows instant price comparisons on supermarket shelves with its barcode scanner feature. We will continue to stand by our citizens with digital solutions that make life easier.
NO PRICE INCREASE FOR BAKLAVA EITHER
On the other hand, there will be no price increase for baklava, which is one of the main desserts adorning iftar tables during Ramadan. Mehmet Yıldırım, the President of the Baklava and Dessert Producers Association, announced yesterday, saying, "Our consumers can be at ease," that baklava prices will be kept stable both during Ramadan and the holiday this year.
