In electricity bills, the government support for amounts exceeding 417 kilowatt-hours of consumption has been removed. According to the new regulation that will come into effect on April 1st, the billed amount and the government support amount will be specified separately on the bills.

A new application is starting for all natural gas and electricity residential subscribers across Turkey. Subscribers will now be able to see how much government support is applied to both their electricity and natural gas bills. The application will begin on April 1st.

APPLICATION VALID FOR RESIDENTIAL SUBSCRIBERS

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) sent a letter to distribution companies to make arrangements for electricity bills. BOTAŞ also initiated work for natural gas. Those studies have reached their final stages, and a timeline has been established. The amount of government support will also be included in the bills that will be issued on and after April 1, 2025. Both the actual cost and the support amount will be visible on the bill at the same time. At the bottom, the amount to be paid will be written. The application is only valid for the monthly bills of residential subscribers. This information will not be provided to commercial, industrial, and electricity-producing consumers.

417 KILOWATT-HOUR LIMIT HAS BEEN SET

According to the regulation that came into effect on February 1st for electricity bills; residential subscribers with a monthly consumption below 417 kilowatt-hours can receive government support. The government support for electricity is applied at 60% for the low tier and 40% for the high tier. For natural gas, government support is reflected in the bill at a rate of 65%.
