With the regulation published in the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change will be able to carry out maintenance, repair, security, and cleaning operations on beaches and coastal strips it deems appropriate. The regulation aims to prevent occupation and destruction on coasts, reduce the non-purpose use of beaches, and enable citizens to benefit from the shores in a more orderly manner.
The Regulation on Amending the Regulation on the Administration of Treasury Real Estate, prepared by the General Directorate of National Real Estate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
The amendment covers coastal areas in accordance with the Coastal Law, the Regulation on the Implementation of the Coastal Law, and the provisions of approved zoning plans.
THE MINISTRY CAN ALSO CARRY OUT OPERATIONS
According to the Ministry's statement, operations related to maintenance, repair, security, cleaning, and similar operational practices for coasts and shorelines deemed appropriate by the Ministry can now be carried out by the relevant units of the Ministry, in addition to municipalities and local administrative unions.
Thus, the relevant units of the Ministry will also be authorized to carry out these operations in designated coastal areas.
CAN BE RENTED OUT WITH A PROTOCOL
According to the regulation, these areas can be rented out, within the scope of a protocol to be prepared, to the central organization of the Ministry, its revolving fund enterprise directorate, affiliated, related, and associated institutions and organizations, and their subsidiaries.
IT IS AIMED TO PREVENT OCCUPATIONS ON THE COASTS
With the new regulation, it is aimed to ensure that the coasts are kept open to the common use of the public and used for public benefit, as stated in the Constitution.
At the same time, it is aimed to make coastal areas more planned, and to prevent occupations occurring in regions where no protocol can be arranged with municipalities, as well as the destruction that may arise due to these occupations.
MEASURES AGAINST NON-PURPOSE USE ON BEACHES
It is also planned to reduce the non-purpose use of beaches through operations carried out under the supervision of the Ministry.
In these areas, in addition to the commercial units needed, needs such as showers, shades, changing cabins, and portable toilets will be met.
With the regulation, it is aimed to observe the protection-use balance without damaging the natural structure of the coasts and to ensure that citizens benefit from the beaches.
