The Turkish Armed Forces, foreign representations, and egg exports for humanitarian purposes will be exempt from the $1.5 support and price stability fund deduction per kilogram. The Ministry of Trade is taking measures against domestic demand and price increases.
The Turkish Armed Forces, all egg exports to be carried out within the scope of foreign representations and humanitarian aid exports will be exempt from the support and price stability fund deduction applied at 1.5 dollars per kilogram.
The Presidential Decision regarding the matter has been published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect.
DOMESTIC DEMAND INCREASED, PRICES SOARED
In a statement made by the Ministry of Trade regarding the issue, it was emphasized that the avian influenza outbreak experienced in the last quarter of 2024 significantly reduced egg production, and the increasing domestic demand created upward pressure on prices.
In the statement, it was reminded that in order to ensure citizens' access to eggs at reasonable prices, a support and price stability fund of 0.5 dollars per kilogram for table egg exports was initiated on February 25. The following expressions were included:
EXEMPTION FOR EGGS FOR THE TSK
However, as price increases continued in the domestic market, this deduction was raised to 1.5 dollars on March 25. On the other hand, the resumption of supply, the weak domestic demand for 'small' eggs weighing less than 53 grams obtained from new flocks, and the sector's requests to restart organic egg exports were evaluated by the Ministry, and in this context, it was assessed that all egg exports to be carried out within the scope of the Turkish Armed Forces, foreign representations, and humanitarian aid exports could be exempt from the fund deduction, and the necessary regulation has been made.
In the statement, it was noted that the Ministry will continue to implement all policy tools decisively in cooperation with relevant institutions in the future to ensure food supply and security, maintain price stability, and prevent speculative movements.
