PASSENGER BUS OVERTURNED INTO THE DITCH
The passenger bus with license plate 33 CFU 60 belonging to Mardin Seyahat company lost control and overturned into the ditch in the Doğanca village area of the Bingöl-Diyarbakır highway.
4 DEAD, MORE THAN 30 INJURED
A large number of 112 Emergency Health and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. According to initial assessments, 4 people lost their lives in the accident. More than 30 people were injured.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR OF BINGÖL AT THE ACCIDENT SITE
Bingöl Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta made a statement at the accident site, saying: "The bus heading to Erzurum lost control due to excessive icing about 8 kilometers before the Genç district around 8 o'clock, and rolled into the ditch. According to initial assessments, we estimate that there were 41 passengers, 2 drivers, and 1 assistant on the bus. Our teams from 112, AFAD, UMKE, and the gendarmerie intervened for the injured. Our injured were transported to hospitals."
