A person who went to Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone to apply for a job stole a parked car and fled after receiving a negative response to their application. The suspect was quickly caught by police teams and the car was returned to its owner. While it was learned that the vehicle had sustained material damage, it was notable that the suspect, upon seeing the police, asked 'Are you going to put me in a cell?' as if nothing had happened, and began listing their illnesses.
A 27-year-old individual identified as Y.A., who went to a company located on 22nd Street in the Organized Industrial Zone in Kayseri's Melikgazi district for a job application, stole F.B.'s Tofaş brand car and fled after receiving a negative response to his application.
TEAMS LAUNCHED INVESTIGATION
F.B., who could not find his car where he had left it after leaving work, went to the police station and reported the incident. Upon the report, teams from the Auto Theft Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate of the Kayseri Provincial Police Department launched an operation to capture Y.A. and find the car to return it to its owner.
During the teams' efforts, the car was found parked in an empty lot on Derebey Street in Battalgazi District, and Y.A. was apprehended at a residence near the parking location.
WHEN HE SAW THE POLICE, HE STARTED LISTING HIS ILLNESSES
Y.A., who was caught red-handed, asked the police handcuffing him, as if nothing had happened, 'Are you going to put me in custody?' and then started listing his illnesses. Y.A., who was taken to the police station and was found to have an extensive criminal record, had legal proceedings initiated against him.
CAR RETURNED TO OWNER: HE SMASHED EVERY PART OF IT
Meanwhile, the parked car was handed over to its owner, F.B., by police teams.
F.B., who thanked the police teams for their efforts and stated that the suspect had damaged the car in an accident, said: "Around 2 PM, I came to my workplace and parked my car. I went to my workplace from there. When I came out at 5:45 PM, I saw my car was not there; it had been stolen. While we were talking among ourselves, friends in the neighboring factory heard about it and came over. The person who stole my car had applied for a job at that factory. My friend didn't hire him. I guess he was also a bit drunk; those friends at the factory followed him and saw him get into my car and sit for a while. He started the car and stole it. So I filed a complaint with the police. The police found my car. But there's quite a lot of damage to my car. He smashed every part of it. We are filing a complaint against the thief and we are victims. I want the necessary action to be taken."
