After the change in the Burdur Provincial Presidency of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), 8 district presidents resigned. 8 DISTRICT PRESIDENTS RESIGNED AT ONCEFollowing Gültekin Oktay's resignation from the position of MHP Burdur Provincial President citing health reasons, Mustafa Gün was appointed as the new president. After the new provincial president appointment, Hakan Subay, the Burdur central district president, Mustafa Ayyıldız, the Ağlasun district president, Mustafa Çakmak, the Çavdır district president, Ali İhsan Vural, the Gölhisar district president, Ömer Karagöz, the Karamanlı district president, Müslüm Mete, the Kemer district president, Ramazan Dağdeviren, the Tefenni district president, and Yusuf Erkan, the Yeşilova district president, announced their resignations with a joint statement. The joint statement published with the signatures of the 8 district presidents included the following statements: "Dear fellow citizens, esteemed comrades, as the entire Burdur public is aware, our provincial president Gültekin Oktay resigned from his position last week, and a new provincial president was expected to be appointed by our Headquarters. Today, in the afternoon, the new provincial president appointment was made by our Headquarters. Firstly, it is the overwhelming belief of the MHP Burdur organizations and its supporters that the resignation of our Provincial President Gültekin Oktay should not be accepted, and he should not be removed from his position through Byzantine games, slanders, and various schemes. REACTION TO THE CHANGE OF PROVINCIAL PRESIDENTWe are not men of a man, but men of the cause. We are people who strive for the success of the cause. We are the district presidents who testify both in this world and the next to the dedication of our president Gültekin Oktay to the organizational discipline and to each member of the organization, and to the superior effort he has shown for our cause and its success. Therefore, the issue is not about Gültekin Oktay as a person. Due to his loyalty and service to the cause, and because all our comrades in Burdur feel like a mountain behind Gültekin, we would have preferred him to continue as our Provincial President for his dedication to successfully carry our party forward. "IT WAS OUR NATURAL RIGHT TO DEMAND THAT THOSE WHO SLANDER US NOT BE GIVEN OFFICE"While we work day and night for the success of our cause, it was our natural right to demand that those who strive for the failure of our party and our candidates, including a former provincial president in the 2024 elections, not be given office. While we and all our comrades in Burdur are subjected to insults and various slanders, should those who insult us, slander us, and work for our failure not only be denied office but also not even be allowed under the shadow of the three crescents? We are people who know what an organization is and what the Headquarters is, and we will never disrespect these sacred institutions. We no longer have the strength to endure this situation. There is no opportunity for us, the district presidents who fight with all our material and spiritual strength for the success of the MHP, to continue under the current conditions. Continuing our duties in this state is contrary to the normal flow of life and politics. We resign from our duties while preserving our love and respect for our Chairman and the Headquarters executives, and we will remain in this love and respect for a lifetime. We respectfully announce this to the public."
