In recent days, the increasing number of femicides has caused an uproar across the country, while AK Party Bayraklı Council Member Latif Aydemir made scandalous statements. Aydemir said, "I exempt our ladies, but those who kill are not the only ones to blame; the victims are also guilty. This needs to be examined closely." Following his controversial remarks, Aydemir was referred to disciplinary action with a request for his expulsion.

The bleeding wound of Turkey, femicides, caused outrage with the brutal murders of İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil, who were killed one after another in Fatih. As calls for changes in the penal execution law to eliminate the perception of impunity rose from all segments of society, the words of AK Party member Latif Aydemir shocked many.

SCANDALOUS STATEMENT: THE DEAD ARE AS GUILTY AS THE KILLER

Speaking at the İzmir Municipal Council meeting, AK Party Bayraklı Council Member Latif Aydemir took the floor regarding femicides and made the following statements:

I believe there are issues that should be observed with appreciation. I absolve our ladies, our women, but I must say that among many men, including some women, those who die are as guilty as those who kill. This needs to be examined closely. I said this while absolving many of our ladies. Right now, there are so many people who, if a tiny scratch is made in a place where there are no cameras, we would immediately open our eyes in the police station.

In the footage of the moment of the speech made in the municipal council, it was seen that the members sitting next to Aydemir were also surprised by his scandalous words. Many users reacted to the statements that were shared on social media.
