A security personnel working at a bank branch in the Beylikdüzü district of Istanbul committed suicide with his own weapon in the restroom. Customers in the bank experienced great panic after the incident, and one of the customers stated, "Some people were afraid that the bank had been robbed."

The incident occurred around 11:30 at the Yapı Kredi Bank's Beylikdüzü E-5 branch. According to the information obtained, the security guard Ö.T., who had started working at the branch a while ago, was heard firing his weapon after going downstairs. When the employees who heard the sound went to the scene, they found Ö.T. in a pool of blood.

CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCED GREAT PANIC

Customers in the bank experienced panic after the incident. Health teams that arrived upon notification determined that Ö.T. had lost his life. While police teams began investigations inside the branch, Ö.T.'s lifeless body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute's morgue.

"SOME PEOPLE WERE AFRAID THE BANK WAS BEING ROBBED"

Erdinç Yıldız, one of the customers who was at the bank to conduct a transaction during the incident, recounted what happened, saying, "I was waiting in line. We heard a gunshot, and suddenly there was panic. We heard a cleaning staff member saying, 'I couldn't prevent it.' Some people were afraid that the bank was being robbed. Then we learned that the security guard had committed suicide."
