After an argument that started in a park in Adana turned into a fight, a person who fled to a cafe was stabbed to death.
A person who fled into a cafe during a fight that started after a 'staring' argument in a park in Adana was stabbed to death. The suspect was caught and arrested.
The incident occurred at around 21:30 on August 17 on Metehan Şahbaz Street in the Köprülü neighborhood of the Yüreğir district. Mehmet Gökten Ö., who worked as a waiter at a kebab shop, went to the park after his shift to rest. According to the claim, the suspect, who was drinking alcohol in the park, was disturbed by the looks directed at him by Mehmet Büyükkılıç, who was sitting on the opposite bench.
HE TOOK REFUGE IN A CAFE BY RUNNING
The verbal argument between the two soon turned into a fight. During the scuffle, Büyükkılıç ran and took refuge in a nearby cafe. However, the suspect, who followed him, stabbed Büyükkılıç in various parts of his body after catching him in the cafe, and then fled the scene.
MOMENTS OF HORROR IN THE CAFE
Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification of the cafe employees. Büyükkılıç, who was seriously injured, was taken to Adana City Training and Research Hospital by ambulance after initial intervention. However, the young man lost his life despite all the doctors' interventions.
Following the incident, teams from the Homicide Bureau launched an investigation and caught the suspect, Mehmet Gökten Ö., in an operation at his hideout home.

The cafe owner, Şenay Yıldırım, described the events, saying, "While I was dealing with customers, two people ran into the cafe. At first, we thought they were joking. They threw chairs at each other. The employees intervened to separate them. We couldn't understand what was happening. Then he attacked and stabbed him. We applied pressure with towels to the injured boy. The one who stabbed him also ran away. As a mother, I feel sorry for both sides. I wish it hadn't happened this way."

It was learned that the suspect, who accepted the accusation in his statement at the police station, said, "While I was drinking in the park, a person I didn't know sat on the bench across from me. When he muttered while looking at me, I said, 'Is there a problem?' When he swore at me, a fight broke out, and I stabbed him."
After his procedures at the police station, Mehmet Gökten Ö. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court he was brought before.
