A shepherd grazing his sheep in the sinkhole formation in Emirdağ district of Afyonkarahisar noticed it. Yeniköy Village Headman Bekir Ekşi made a statement about the issue, saying, "These lands used to be places with a lot of water. This water has gradually receded. Before this, there was a small sinkhole-like collapse. The surroundings of the sinkhole started to crack and split. The villagers and farmers were worried because of the sinkhole. They demanded that necessary investigations be carried out and precautions be taken." "THE SINKHOLE HAS A STRUCTURE THAT EXPANDS AND GROWS"Abdullah Doğan, a 66-year-old farmer from the village, said that this is the second sinkhole that has occurred in the village. Doğan stated, "The first sinkhole was quite small, but this newly formed sinkhole has a structure that expands and grows. Therefore, it can be dangerous. We demand that the authorities take necessary precautions." Yusuf Yıldırım, a resident of the region, said, "This sinkhole formed in three days. We demand that necessary precautions be taken. Additionally, a planned irrigation and production plan should be implemented."
