Many people who wanted to take advantage of the affordable clothing campaign organized by a clothing store operating in Sultangazi gathered in front of the store hours before opening time. After the store, where long queues formed in front due to the crowd, opened, customers raced each other to get inside. At times, there were stampedes due to the density.
1 PERSON FAINTED
Due to the crowd, 1 person fainted, while 1 person also fell to the ground and was slightly injured. Store employees and bystanders intervened to help the person who fainted.
'WE OPENED EARLY TO PREVENT A LARGER STAMPEDE'
Store owner Muhammet Soylu said, "We witness this density every day. At times, situations such as fainting can occur in the crowd. To avoid causing a larger stampede, we opened our store earlier than planned. We did not want people to wait outside for a long time and for the crowd to grow further. Since we are manufacturers, we can offer products at more affordable prices. We also keep our profit margin low. Therefore, our prices remain below the market."
