Sinan Burhan, the General Director of the Millet News Agency, made striking claims regarding the presidential candidacy discussions within the CHP during a program on TV100. Burhan suggested that if Ekrem İmamoğlu is nominated as the presidential candidate, Mansur Yavaş would leave the party and run for the candidacy himself. He based his claim on sources close to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Sinan Burhan, the General Editor of Millet News Agency, who was a guest on the program "Equal Weight" with Erdoğan Aktaş broadcasted on TV100, made a striking claim.
"IF İMAMOĞLU IS NOMINATED, MANSUR YAVAŞ WILL LEAVE AND RUN FOR CANDIDATE"
Burhan, who based his claim on sources close to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, stated, "I asked if there are those who say that Ekrem İmamoğlu would be protected legally if he is nominated as a presidential candidate. From sources close to Kılıçdaroğlu, I received the response that 'there is no legal or technical infrastructure for this nomination process. And if such a candidacy announcement is made, there will be serious turmoil and division within the party. Mr. Mansur Yavaş will look for other formulas. It will become impossible to keep Mansur Yavaş within the Republican People's Party. If Ekrem İmamoğlu is nominated, Mr. Mansur Yavaş will leave and run for presidential candidate,'" he expressed.
"KILIÇDAROĞLU HAS EXPRESSED HIS DISCOMFORT ABOUT AKPOLAT TO ÖZEL"
On the other hand, Burhan stated, "I spoke with sources close to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. First of all, I asked why Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu did not comment on the Rıza Akpolat investigation in Istanbul. The answer they gave me was as follows; 'Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu expressed his discomfort regarding the corruption allegations raised about Rıza Akpolat before the elections to Özgür Özel. And he stated that Özel should not nominate Rıza Akpolat,'" he said.
