The master of Turkish cinema, Perihan Savaş, returned to the Kirazlı neighborhood of Şarköy district in Tekirdağ after a long break. Spending the Kurban Bayram holiday here, Savaş participated in the cherry harvest wearing traditional clothing and picked cherries from the tree.
Perihan Savaş, one of the unforgettable names of Yeşilçam, was hosted as a guest in Kirazlı, where she had come years ago for a film shoot. The harvest, which meets a significant portion of the table cherries sent to Istanbul, symbolically began with the artist eating cherries from the tree in the garden.
Dressed in traditional clothes, Savaş accompanied the village women and picked cherries in the garden with the producers. The artist, who examined the fruits she collected one by one, received intense interest from the citizens with her sincere demeanor. Stopping by the village coffee house, Savaş drank tea and chatted with the locals, and did not turn down requests for photos from her fans. Expressing that returning to the same lands after years moved her, Perihan Savaş stated, "What a beautiful coincidence. I came to these lands for a film shoot in the 1980s. Today, I am back in Kirazlı after years. The same warmth, the same abundance... The cherries are wonderful. I wish everyone a fruitful and bountiful harvest."
Perihan Savaş's nostalgic visit not only delighted the local people but also became a warm memory of the past for cinema lovers. The event also highlighted the agricultural richness of the Kirazlı neighborhood.
