A middle school teacher in Bornova, İzmir, who is alleged to have verbally harassed female parents with remarks such as, 'I wish I had a wife like you, I would be indebted for 40 years,' has been suspended.
Middle school teacher Y.H., against whom a criminal complaint was filed on allegations that he verbally harassed some female parents in İzmir, has been suspended as part of an administrative investigation launched into the matter.
"DID YOU MARRY FOR LOVE?"
The incident occurred on October 2 at a café located in the Kazım Dirik Neighborhood of Bornova district. According to the allegation, teacher Y.H., who works at Yavuz Sultan Selim Middle School, mentioned the names of several students and said he wanted to meet with the female parents of these children. It was alleged that teacher Y.H., who met with the parents at a café near the school, verbally told one parent during the meeting, 'Did you marry for love? If I had a wife like you, I would be indebted for 40 years,' and told another parent, 'You are a widow, there are many people who would want to be your lover, are you thinking of getting married?'
TEACHER SUSPENDED
It was learned that teacher Y.H. was suspended as part of the administrative investigation launched following the complaint of parents who went to the school after the incident.
