ROBBED DURING A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH
During the thrilling Champions League match in which Real Betis defeated Porto 3-2, the Brazilian player's house was targeted. Antony, who became aware of the situation after the match, confirmed the burglary news and posted a statement on his social media account.
HE SUFFERED FINANCIAL LOSS
The Brazilian winger, stating that he had suffered financial loss, said that the financial loss was not important and that his family's safety and peace of mind were more important than anything.
Here is Antony's statement:
''Today I am here to share a very sad and infuriating situation. A night that was expected to be wonderful turned into anger and disappointment.
My home was burglarized.
It is hard to describe how you feel when your home is broken into. It is very hard to know that everything we achieved through so much effort, work and dedication was taken away by someone who does not even know about the struggles we had to go through to earn every single thing.
But the most painful and infuriating thing is not only the financial loss. It is the feeling of insecurity we experience in the place where we should feel safest. Looking after my family and seeing the fear and insecurity that such an event leaves behind in the eyes of the people I love most.
In the face of all this, one thing became even clearer to me: no material possession in the world is more valuable than my family's life, peace and happiness.
We can regain everything we have lost. We will keep working, our dreams are still alive, and our desire to move forward has not diminished at all.
What really matters is being able to look into my family's eyes and know that we are still together, united and strong to get through this difficult moment.
The feelings of anger and insecurity continue. But the fact also remains unchanged that our greatest wealth is never the material things inside our home, but the people who make it a real home.
Because in the end, my greatest achievement has never been the things I could buy, but my family who are by my side.
And for them, if necessary, I would start everything from scratch and rebuild everything as many times as needed.''
