In Gaziantep, a total fine of 720,000 TL was imposed on 4 drivers in a wedding convoy who stopped their vehicles inside a tunnel for entertainment.
Following the sharing of a video on social media showing 7 vehicles stopping and having fun in a wedding convoy inside the 100th Year Tunnels in Gaziantep, teams from the Gaziantep Provincial Police Department took action.
TOTAL FINE OF 720 THOUSAND LIRA
Teams identifying the license plates of the vehicles from cameras imposed a separate fine of 180 thousand TL, totaling 720 thousand TL, on 4 of the 7 vehicles for the violation of 'Forming a Convoy in a Way That Hinders the Passage of Other Vehicles Inside the Tunnel.' While the vehicles with identified plates were banned from traffic for 120 days, the drivers' licenses were also confiscated for 120 days.
In a statement made on the social media account of the Gaziantep Governor's Office regarding the issue, the following expressions were included:
"The images published today on a social media account regarding vehicles that blocked the road by stopping inside the 100th Year Tunnels while forming a wedding convoy in our Şahinbey district have been accepted as a notification. In the work carried out by our Police Department, a fine of 180 thousand each, totaling 720 thousand lira, was imposed on 4 of the 7 vehicles whose plates were identified for the violation of 'Forming a Convoy in a Way That Hinders the Passage of Other Vehicles Inside the Tunnel', the vehicles were banned from traffic for 120 days, and the drivers' licenses were confiscated for 120 days. Work on the other 3 vehicles with identified plates continues."
