GAVE STATEMENT
Singer Fatih Karaca, known as Mabel Matiz, came to the Istanbul Justice Palace in Çağlayan to give a statement as part of the investigation launched on charges of obscenity regarding the lyrics and music video of the song titled 'Ha Leylim'.
TRAVEL BAN ABROAD IMPOSED
Karaca, who gave a statement at the prosecutor's office, was referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control. Karaca was released by the court with the judicial control measure of a 'travel ban abroad'.
"OBSCENITY" INVESTIGATION HAD BEEN LAUNCHED
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an "obscenity investigation" against Mabel Matiz. In a written statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the lyrics and visual content of the video clip were evaluated within the scope of the "obscenity" crime regulated in Article 226 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK). It was reported that an investigation was initiated ex officio to reveal the material truth.
The statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the following expressions:
"Since it is evaluated that the visual and lyrics of the video clip belonging to the song titled 'Ha Leylim', performed by the singer known to the public as Mabel Matiz and published on digital platforms, fall within the scope of the obscenity crime regulated in Article 226 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237, an investigation has been initiated ex officio by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to reveal the material truth and carry out the necessary investigation procedures."
A section of the song subject to the investigation is as follows:
