A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Osman Yalçın, the Deputy Mayor of Esenyurt.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant for Osman Yalçın, the assistant of Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was arrested and sent to prison as part of a terrorism investigation against him.

WORK IS UNDERWAY TO LOCATE YALÇIN

As part of the ongoing investigation, police teams conducted an operation at Yalçın's home. However, it was learned that Yalçın was not at home. The prosecutor's office has issued a detention order for Yalçın. Authorities stated that efforts are ongoing to locate Yalçın.

HE WAS AHMET ÖZER'S ASSISTANT

Yalçın served as the assistant to Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was removed from office and replaced by a trustee. Yalçın was responsible for departments such as the Directorate of Science Affairs, the Directorate of Parks and Gardens, the Directorate of Licensing and Supervision, and the Directorate of Municipal Police. It is stated that the investigation covers allegations related to this period.

Moreover, the operation against Osman Yalçın drew attention as it coincided with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's visit to Ahmet Özer at Silivri Prison today.

WHO IS OSMAN YALÇIN?

He was born in 1988 in the Malazgirt district of Muş. He completed his primary education at Alparslan Primary School and then graduated from Malazgirt Alparslan High School. After receiving architectural education abroad, he returned to Turkey.

He has been residing in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul for a long time. Osman Yalçın, who is a member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council and served as the assistant to Ahmet Özer at Esenyurt Municipality, is married and a father of two children.
