A video shared on social media by a citizen reacting to the assignment of male personnel in underwear stores became a trending topic. The citizen, expressing their discomfort, called on store managements and business owners, saying, "Men, go to another department."
"PLEASE DON'T CALL ME BACKWARD, I AM EMBARRASSED"
A female customer, who sincerely expressed her discomfort with male salespeople in departments and stores selling underwear, began her remarks with the warning, "Don't approach this with prejudice." Expressing her embarrassment in her post, the citizen said: "Now, I'm going to say something. Please don't say 'backward' or 'this and that.' I'm begging you, don't put male salespeople in these underwear stores. But I am embarrassed, I don't know, are there others who think like me?"
"HOW CAN I EXPLAIN? MEN, GO TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT!"
The citizen, stating that she struggles to communicate with male staff during shopping and hesitates to describe the details she's looking for, summarized her request and situation with these words: "I mean, how can I explain to a man now? Excuse me, 'let this part of the briefs be like this, and this part of the undershirt be like that,' or something else... How can I say it? I beg you, men, go to another department."
SPLIT SOCIAL MEDIA IN TWO
The video, which received hundreds of thousands of interactions in a short time, also split social media users in two. One group of users supported the situation, finding it justified in terms of "customer comfort and privacy," while another group reacted, saying, "There should be no gender discrimination in the service sector; everyone is just doing their job."
