In the "corruption" and "bribery" investigation conducted against Izmit Municipality, images showing that the Licensing and Inspection Director Figan Çetin received a bribe in an envelope were added to the case file. In the footage recorded by the male individual who gave the bribe, Çetin is seen saying, "Put it like this, put it there, I'll take it from there" regarding the money inside the envelope.
New footage has emerged regarding bribery allegations as part of the corruption investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Izmit Municipality.
CLAIM: "SHE TOOK IT TO DELIVER TO THE ADMINISTRATION"
In the footage included in the investigation file, money is seen being left in an envelope for Figan Cetin, the Director of Licensing and Inspection at Izmit Municipality. It has been alleged that the money in question was delivered to be passed on to the municipal administration and was received by Figan Cetin.
In the footage recorded by the person giving the money, conversations are included about hiding the envelope containing the money so it would not be visible.
"LEAVE IT THERE, I'LL TAKE IT FROM THERE"
In the recordings, Cetin is seen saying, "Put it there. I'll take it from there. Put it like that so it's not visible from there," while the person giving the money says, "It's in the envelope. I tucked it in there and put an envelope on top of it, Director."
In the footage, after the envelope is hidden at a spot in the room, conversations also take place regarding a possible operation against the municipality.
"IN SUCH A SITUATION, THEY WOULD RAID US FIRST"
In the conversations, Figan Cetin is heard saying, "In such a situation, they would raid us here first." "An operation was already expected here."
The investigative authorities are looking into the location and date where the footage was taken, the amount of money in the envelope, who gave it and for what purpose, and to whom the money was later delivered.
MONEY TRAIL RELATIONSHIP UNDER REVIEW
Investigations continue to determine the relationship between the people in the footage, which municipal transaction or licensing process the money handover was connected to, and whether other individuals were involved in the alleged money trail.
It has been learned that these images, included in the file, are being evaluated together with other evidence in the investigation, and the investigation is continuing on multiple fronts.
