JUDICIAL INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO THE INCIDENT
The Ministry of Justice issued a written statement regarding the incident that took place on Friday, July 3, at around 18:00, at a beach in Mersinalanı Neighborhood, Seferihisar, Izmir.
The statement indicated that a judicial investigation was initiated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after a person named A.A. reported being insulted during an argument with an individual named I.A. over a sun lounger spot.

It was reported that within the scope of the investigation, a suspect named I.K. was taken into custody for the crime of 'hate and discrimination' as regulated in Article 122 of the Turkish Penal Code. The Ministry noted that the judicial inquiry into the incident is being conducted meticulously.

In the footage reflected by a mobile phone camera, the elderly woman was seen shouting 'Get out of here. Go away' and 'Who do you think you are,' throwing a chair to the ground, and saying 'These places are ours' to the mother and daughter. Those moments sparked widespread reaction on social media.
