In the nighttime air strikes launched by Russia on Ukraine's capital Kyiv, preliminary reports indicate that 3 people have died and 7 have been injured. Apartments in the Podil and Darnitskyi districts have been damaged, and search and rescue operations have been initiated for those trapped under the rubble. The Ukrainian Army announced that attacks are ongoing not only in Kyiv but also in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, in a statement on his social media account, announced that the airstrikes on the capital began as of 02:45 local time.

Klitschko stated that apartments in Kyiv's Podil and Darnitskiy districts were damaged due to the attacks and reported that search and rescue operations were launched at the scenes.

15 PEOPLE RESCUED, 7 INJURED

Klitschko reported that 15 people were safely rescued from a damaged apartment building in the Podil district and noted that, according to initial assessments, 7 people were injured across the city.

Kyiv City Military Administration Head Timur Tkachenko, in a statement on his social media account, announced that according to available information, 3 people lost their lives due to the ongoing attacks on the capital. Tkachenko said in his post, "Russia continues its missile attacks targeting civilians."

ATTACKS CONTINUE IN MANY REGIONS

The Ukrainian Air Force Command also reported in a statement that airstrikes are ongoing in Chernihiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions, primarily in Kyiv.
