Trabzonspor crowned Turkish champions in 2022 for first time in 38 years under Avci’s helm.

Abdullah Avci resigned Tuesday as Trabzonspor's manager amid disappointing results in the Turkish Super Lig.

"It's time to say 'goodbye' to my beloved Trabzonspor and the beautiful people of this beautiful city, without any financial demands, unconditionally and without expectations," Avci wrote on Twitter.

Avci led Trabzonspor to the Turkish Süper Lig title last year for the first time in 38 years and two Turkish Super Cup trophies.

In November 2020, the 59-year-old head coach replaced Eddie Newton, who was mutually terminated with the Black Sea Storm.

Trabzonspor President Ahmet Agaoglu previously announced his resignation and the club's Board of Directors decided to hold the Extraordinary General Assembly.

Trabzonspor are currently sixth with 38 points in 23 matches in the Super Lig. -
