The "Somaliland" crisis between Somalia and Ethiopia has come to an end in Ankara with Turkey's mediation. A declaration was signed between the two countries during meetings that lasted throughout the day, attended personally by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The leaders of both countries thanked President Erdoğan. ERDOĞAN'S EMPHASIS ON "NEW BEGINNING"In a joint press conference, President Erdoğan stated, "We have taken the first step towards a new beginning based on peace and cooperation between Somalia and Ethiopia by overcoming certain grievances and misunderstandings together." GÜL CONGRATULATES ERDOĞANTurkey's 11th President, Abdullah Gül, also made a noteworthy post on social media regarding the issue. In his post, Gül stated, "The resolution of the Somalia-Ethiopia dispute, one of the oldest problems on the African continent that has led to many bloody wars, through an agreement signed in Ankara with Turkey's contributions is a historic development.
