The 11th President Abdullah Gül made a statement regarding the resolution of the tension between Somalia and Ethiopia through Ankara's mediation, saying, "I congratulate President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and all those who contributed to this process."
The "Somaliland" crisis between Somalia and Ethiopia has come to an end in Ankara with Turkey's mediation. A declaration was signed between the two countries during meetings that lasted throughout the day, attended personally by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The leaders of both countries thanked President Erdoğan.
ERDOĞAN'S EMPHASIS ON "NEW BEGINNING"
In a joint press conference, President Erdoğan stated, "We have taken the first step towards a new beginning based on peace and cooperation between Somalia and Ethiopia by overcoming certain grievances and misunderstandings together."
