According to TÜİK's 2025 data, Konya ranks first with 966,037 cattle, followed by İzmir and Erzurum; at the bottom of the list is Yalova with 13,597 cattle, while the data revealed that livestock farming is particularly concentrated in the Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia regions.
According to the statistics based on TÜİK 2025 data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the number of cattle by province has been determined. Konya ranks at the top of the list with 966,037 heads.
KONYA LEADS, IZMIR AND ERZURUM FOLLOW
According to the data, İzmir follows Konya with 929,791 heads, and Erzurum with 780,675 heads. The top 10 also includes Ankara (666,348), Balıkesir (616,907), Kars (604,150), Diyarbakır (578,781), Aydın (516,982), Kayseri (460,294), and Afyonkarahisar (395,152).
EASTERN AND CENTRAL ANATOLIA STAND OUT
It has been observed that particularly the provinces of Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia stand out in cattle farming. Şanlıurfa, Sivas, Kırşehir, Ardahan, and Ağrı also drew attention with their high numbers.
LEAST CATTLE IN YALOVA
At the bottom of the list is Yalova with 13,597 heads. Yalova is followed by Kilis (13,668) and Rize (20,098). The data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry reveals the regional distribution of livestock activities and serves as an important indicator for production planning.
