Before Ramadan, inspections of prices, labels, hygiene, and expiration dates were increased in chain stores in Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ; officials announced that the inspections would continue throughout the month.
The teams of the Edirne Trade Directorate checked the prices of vegetables, fruits, basic food products, and essential supplies during inspections in supermarkets.
INSPECTIONS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH RAMADAN
The teams roaming the aisles examined the products for price increases, discrepancies between shelf and cash register prices, product weight, comparison with invoices, consumption dates, and compliance with other regulations. It was stated that the inspections would continue throughout the month of Ramadan.
INSPECTIONS HAVE INCREASED IN KIRKLARELI
The teams from the Kırklareli Agriculture and Forestry Directorate and the Trade Provincial Directorate also conducted inspections in supermarkets. The teams checked the expiration dates, hygiene conditions, and storage requirements of the products, and compared the product labels and cash register prices. The teams reviewed the last change dates of product prices along with past price lists.
BUSINESSES INSPECTED IN TEKIRDAG
The teams from the Tekirdağ Agriculture and Forestry Directorate conducted inspections for exorbitant prices and label checks in chain supermarkets. The teams examining the labels for basic food and essential products also inspected businesses producing meat, bread, pastries, and baked goods.
During the inspections, the businesses' registration and approval documents, physical environments, and compliance with minimum technical and hygienic conditions were checked. Business owners and staff were also informed about food safety and hygiene issues.
