Acun Ilıcalı criticized Arda Kardeşler harshly.

31.10.2024 19:10

Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı criticized the refereeing in the Galatasaray-Beşiktaş derby. Stating that he has long lost faith in Turkish referees, Ilıcalı said, "If you watch the match and bring in any foreigner, they would ask, 'Is football being played in this country?' Today it happens to Beşiktaş, and tomorrow it could happen to another team if there is no intervention. The same thing will happen to Trabzonspor, it will happen to Göztepe, it can happen to everyone."

Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı spoke to Ekol TV. Ilıcalı made striking statements regarding the referee management in the Trabzonspor match to be played on Sunday, November 3, in the Trendyol Super League, and the Galatasaray-Beşiktaş derby.

"THERE'S NO MEANING IN TURNING IT INTO A BLOOD FEUD"

Referring to the events that took place in the Trabzonspor away match last season, Acun Ilıcalı stated, "What happened in Trabzon stayed in the past. There can always be tension in football. Just because there was tension, it doesn't make sense to turn it into a blood feud. It was a bad day for everyone. I hope such things do not happen again," he expressed.

"WE WILL GO TO TRABZON FOR 3 POINTS"

Ilıcalı conveyed that they are going to Trabzon to win, saying, "We will go out to win every match. We will fight until the end, but this is football. There is no team in the world that never loses, but we are going to Trabzon to win. We will play to win. We are united as a team. The atmosphere in Samandıra is also very nice. We believe in our team and our coach. We want to go there and take 3 points," he said.

"I HAVE LONG LOST MY FAITH IN TURKISH REFEREES"

Commenting on the appointment of young referee Oğuzhan Çakır for the Trabzonspor match, Ilıcalı stated, "The trial of a young referee is a good experiment. Ultimately, it is thought that a young referee will be good for football, but if you ask me, I lost my faith in Turkish referees a long time ago. It is the federation's decision, but let me be clear; when you watch the match from last weekend, bring in any foreign person and show them that match, they would ask, 'Is football being played in this country?'" he remarked.

"WHAT HAPPENS TO BEŞİKTAŞ TODAY MAY HAPPEN TO ANOTHER TEAM TOMORROW"

Speaking about the referee management in the Galatasaray-Beşiktaş derby, Acun Ilıcalı said, "I don't want to talk about referees every minute, but after I spoke, I guess everyone saw the picture. The situation is certainly not rosy right now. What happens to Beşiktaş today may happen to another team tomorrow if there is no intervention. The same thing will happen to Trabzonspor, it will happen to Göztepe, it can happen to everyone. If there is no change, I stand by that opinion," he stated.

"WE BELIEVE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP"

Finally, Acun Ilıcalı expressed that they believe in the championship, saying, "Fenerbahçe fans believe in us, they brought us to this position. Thanks to their support, we draw our energy. Therefore, there is no need for them to hear anything from me; as a community, we already believe. We will never compromise," he concluded.
