Adana Demirspor fans staged a protest in front of the Adana Metropolitan Municipality to draw attention to the club's financial and administrative problems and to seek support. The fans, who dismantled security barriers, calmed down and dispersed after President Ertan Zeybek's press statement. Zeybek called on all city officials to support the team's survival.
Adana Demirspor, which has been going through hard times due to financial problems in the last two seasons and will compete in the TFF 2nd League this season, continues to be on the agenda with point deduction penalties.
It was claimed that the club's debt of approximately 550 thousand Euros must be paid by Friday night, August 14, otherwise FIFA could impose a relegation sanction on the club.
THEY BROKE DOWN THE BARRICADES AND TRIED TO ENTER THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING
Adana Demirspor fans and management, who gathered in front of the Adana Metropolitan Municipality regarding the issue, encountered barricades set up in front of the municipal building.
The angry fans broke down the barriers and tried to enter the municipal building. The fans, who were met with police and security barriers, then began chanting. After the chants, Adana Demirspor President Ertan Zeybek made statements.
"THEY THREATENED TO WITHDRAW THE 10 PERSONNEL THEY PROVIDED"
Zeybek, stating that Adana Demirspor is going through the worst days in its history, said, "In these bad days, we have been in a struggle with our friends and fans for 7-8 months. We present this struggle to those who govern this city in weekly reports. But as you all know, keeping this team alive is not something that can be done only with fans. We explained this situation to the highest local authorities of this city. Unfortunately, in 8 months, no one has even knocked on our door to ask about our situation. We said, 'Everyone should protect this value.' We never told anyone, 'Bring the entire budget and spend it on Adana Demirspor.' We presented the aid provided in other cities as examples and said, 'Why isn't this being done for Adana Demirspor?' Instead of giving support, they threatened to withdraw the 10 personnel they provided. The current administration thinks 10 personnel are too many for Adana Demirspor."

Ertan Zeybek, reacting by pointing out that a public building is closed with barriers, said, "Working hours are still ongoing. I am a citizen, I have business inside, but I cannot enter. See how Adana is governed, this is how Adana is governed. Adana has been poorly governed for years, not just in sports. They gave 2 million to Adana Demirspor in 8 months, as if all of Demirspor's debt is closed. For years, the Metropolitan Municipality has contributed nothing to Demirspor except personnel. They constantly present that as a threat to us."
After the press statement, the group dispersed without incident.
