In the İzmit district of Kocaeli, a 15-year-old Syrian girl was allegedly subjected to sexual assault in a house where she had been taken for cleaning work. Three suspects were detained in connection with the incident, and it was reported that one of the suspects, initially released under judicial control, was arrested approximately one month later. The Ministry of Family and Social Services announced that it would intervene in the upcoming lawsuit.

According to the police report, W.A. claimed that on the day of the incident, N. Türkeş took her to a house for cleaning work, where M. Görmez assaulted her. In her statement included in the police report, W.A. said that N. Türkeş took her to a house for cleaning work, and when they arrived at the house, he said, "You go in, I'm coming." W.A. alleged that after she went inside, M. Görmez locked the door and sexually assaulted her.
3 SUSPECTS DETAINED
According to T24, following the complaint of the 15-year-old girl, M. Görmez and N. Türkeş, along with S. Ölmez, who was alleged to have introduced himself as a police officer, were detained. After his procedures, M. Görmez was released under judicial control. About a month later, within the scope of the investigation, M. Görmez was detained again, arrested, and sent to prison.
STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES: WE WILL INTERVENE IN THE CASE TO BE FILED
Following these allegations, a statement was made by the Ministry of Family and Social Services regarding the issue. The Ministry stated that it would intervene in the case to be filed regarding the allegation.
In the statement, which noted that Kocaeli Provincial Directorate teams quickly took action and held meetings with the victim child and her family, it was recorded: "In this framework, psychosocial support efforts have been initiated for the victim child and her family by our expert teams. Additionally, necessary counseling, education, and health measures have been implemented, prioritizing the best interests of the child. As a Ministry, we will intervene in the case to be filed to ensure the perpetrator receives the heaviest punishment. With our principle of 'zero tolerance' for protecting our children from all forms of abuse, we will diligently follow the judicial process and continue to stand by our victim child and her family."
