Adanaspor's Head Coach, Sol Bamba, passed away.

Adanaspor's head coach, Sol Bamba, from the Trendyol 1st League, passed away in Manisa. Bamba, who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2021, fell ill before the Manisa FK match the other day.

Adanaspor, one of the teams in the Trendyol 1st League, announced that their coach Sol Bamba passed away in Manisa.

SOL BAMBA PASSED AWAY

In the statement made by the orange-white club, it was stated that "Our Technical Director Souleymane Bamba, who fell ill before the Manisa Football Club match played yesterday, was taken to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital and unfortunately lost his battle for life there. Our condolences to his family and our community."

Sol Bamba fell ill before the Manisa FK match as a result of the recurrence of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosed in January 2021 and was taken to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital.

WHO IS SOL BAMBA?

Souleymane Bamba was born on January 13, 1985 in France. Bamba, who is a Ivorian national football player and coach, started his football career at the age of 14 at Paris Saint-Germain, one of the Ligue 1 teams. He was included in the A team by the then coach Vahid Halilhodzic in 2004 due to his successful performance. After his football career, he worked as a technical training coach at Cardiff City in 2023. He was serving as the technical director at Adanaspor. The successful sportsman was admitted to the hospital for treatment after the recurrence of lymphoma. He passed away on August 31.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is a term used for a group of different blood cancers that share a single characteristic. This disease is divided into two groups: B-cell lymphomas, which originate from abnormal B lymphocytes, and T-cell lymphomas, which originate from abnormal T lymphocytes. B-cell lymphomas are more common. The disease can occur in lymph nodes, lymphoid tissues such as the spleen, or can originate from lymph tissue in organs such as the stomach and intestines. Malignant lymphoid cells can also spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph circulation.
