Turgut Koç, a prisoner known as "the safe" due to his relationships with Özgür Özel and Veli Ağbaba, gave additional testimony regarding CHP's canceled congress. Koç claimed that he sent 10,000 TL via Garanti Bankası to an Ankara Etimesgut delegate and that in return, two congress delegates supported Özgür Özel.
While debates continue after the annulment of the 38th Ordinary Congress of CHP, allegations in Turgut Koç's additional testimony drew attention. Koç claimed that negotiations were held with some delegates before the congress based on money and promises of mayoral positions.
ALLEGATION OF 10,000 TL INCLUDED IN ADDITIONAL TESTIMONY
CHP delegate Turgut Koç, known as the "cashbox" due to alleged illegal business relations with Özgür Özel and CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba, made striking statements in his additional testimony regarding the 38th Ordinary Congress process.
According to journalist Burak Doğan, Koç stated that on the day of the congress, he sent 10,000 TL via Garanti Bankası to a person who was a delegate from Ankara Etimesgut to support Özgür Özel. Koç claimed that in return for this money, two congress delegates supported Özgür Özel.
"PROMISE OF MAYORAL POSITION MADE"
In his testimony, Turgut Koç also alleged that then Edirne Mayor Recep Gürkan was promised a mayoral position in the new term in return for supporting Özgür Özel.
According to Koç's claim, before the congress, contact was made with some delegates not only through money but also through promises of political positions and mayoral offices.
ALLEGATION OF NEGOTIATION FOR YALOVA
Koç also claimed that he arranged for Gökhan Orhan, the CHP district chair of Gebze in Kocaeli, to meet with Ekrem İmamoğlu at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Digital Communication Center. Koç stated that Onursal Adıgüzel arranged the appointment for this meeting and alleged that these individuals supported Özgür Özel after the meeting.
Koç also said that during the congress week, he took the provincial chairs of Yalova, Bolu, and Sakarya to Özgür Özel's election coordination center. Claiming that negotiations were conducted regarding the Yalova mayoral position, Koç alleged that in return for the delegates' votes, Mehmet Gürel was nominated and elected.
"THEY TOOK PHOTOS WITH THE BALLOT"
Turgut Koç also alleged that some voting delegates, despite a phone ban, took photos with their delegate cards, ID cards, and stamped ballots to show who they voted for.
Koç's claim has sparked a new debate regarding the voting process at the congress.
ALLEGATIONS OF TENDERS AND MONEY FLOW ALSO IN THE FILE
In previous testimonies, it was alleged that Özgür Özel and Veli Ağbaba managed off-the-record money flow through Gökhan Cumalı. It was claimed that Turgut Koç, who purchased the company Santa Ofis Büro Mobilya Systems established under Gökhan Cumalı, was awarded high-value tenders from CHP-controlled municipalities such as Çankaya, Ataşehir, Bakırköy, Avcılar, and İzmit.
Among the allegations were also that Koç shared the proceeds from these tenders with Özgür Özel and Veli Ağbaba.
