Last week, Hasan Can (33) returned home after drinking with two friends at a venue in Koza Neighborhood. His mother, who came home from work, woke him up when he fell ill at home.

FIRST HE WENT BLIND, THEN HE DIED

Hasan Can, who told his mother Özgül Can that he could not see, was later visited by his older brother. Upon notification, the 112 emergency teams, suspecting alcohol poisoning, took the young man to Esenyurt State Hospital. After the first intervention here, Hasan Can was later transferred to Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital. Hasan Can, whose condition was serious at the hospital he was transferred to, lost his life.

HIS FRIEND ALSO FELL ILL

After Hasan Can's death, the Can family, who investigated the incident in depth, learned that Hasan Can's friend M.C. also fell ill after drinking alcohol at the same venue on the same night. The family reported the situation to the Esenyurt Police Station and also filed a complaint about the venue.

TWO GLASSES OF ALCOHOL WERE SERVED

It was reported that after Hasan Can and his friends drank a bottle of alcohol at the venue, they were served two glasses of an unknown alcohol as a complimentary drink.

THE VENUE WAS SEALED

Upon the notification, the municipal teams sealed the establishment, and 5 people, including the owner of the establishment, were detained. The exact cause of death of Hasan Can will be determined after the autopsy.

"MOM, I CAN'T SEE YOU"

Özgül Can, the tearful mother who said she went to her son to wake him up, stated, "He told me, 'Mom, I can't see you right now. I see you as dark.' I said, 'You are sleeping too much, that's why. Get up and wash your face.' I went out first, and he came behind me and sat on the couch. When he sat down, he was out of breath. His chest was rising and falling. I said, 'Hasan, what are you doing? What happened?' He told me, 'Mom, call my brother.' I dialed the phone, 'Recep, come. Hasan is calling you,' and I handed the phone to Hasan. Hasan told his brother, 'Can you come here, bro? Take me to the doctor.' His brother came, checked Hasan's pulse, and rubbed his arm. I also rubbed one of his arms. His brother was also calling 112. I was rubbing Hasan's back, and at that moment, Hasan was sweating a lot, and I wiped his sweat. I was also crying. I said, 'Hasan, for God's sake, what happened to you?' At that moment, the 112 teams arrived." she said.

"THEY TOOK MY CHILD AWAY, I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN"

Can, who said she never saw her child again after the first intervention of the medical teams, stated, "The 112 teams checked his blood, sugar, blood pressure, and pulse. A male nurse said, 'Everything is normal for you right now.' I said, 'Then why is this child’s chest rising and falling? Why is he sweating so much?' Then a female nurse came back and asked, 'Did you smoke tobacco?' Hasan did not answer her. When she asked if there was alcohol, the female nurse said, 'Okay.' They said, 'We are going now, but you may have to call again,' and they took my child away. After that departure, I never saw my child again. I learned that they had consumed alcohol at the venue after going to the hospital. I am suing the owner of the venue. I am also suing his friend İzzet if he does not tell me everything. Is a human life that cheap? Can a child be raised this much and consumed so quickly? I do not want it to be like this. They should follow up on this. My heart is broken, but I do not want others to suffer." she spoke.

"AFTER MIXING WITH BLOOD, THE RECOVERY IS VERY DIFFICULT"

Hüseyin Can, Hasan Can's twin brother, stated that he was poisoned by the alcohol he drank at the venue that night, saying, "He was poisoned due to the alcohol he drank with his friends in Koza Neighborhood. Methanol, the toxic effect of methanol, let all young people learn from here, once it mixes with the blood, the recovery is very difficult. It kills all the nerves in the brain and body. My brother is poisoned as a result of the alcohol he drank. It is also present in the hospital reports that he did not drink alcohol anywhere else after drinking at that venue. If he had consumed alcohol somewhere else after that venue, it would have been normal alcohol, and it would have saved his life. As far as we know, they made a payment to a person named Sinan via IBAN, but we have no other information about the venue. We learned that the venue was closed by the municipality. The prosecutor's office has collected all the evidence. Photos of all the bottles in the venue have been taken," he said.
