A woman who had an accident with her car in the Manavgat district of Antalya could not be found at the scene or in the surrounding area despite extensive searches by gendarmerie and traffic teams. The gendarmerie teams, who reached out to the driver's relatives, determined that the woman had told her loved ones that she "had breast and uterine cancer and no longer wanted to live."

In the Manavgat district of Antalya, a report of a single-vehicle accident on the Manavgat-Akseki D-695 highway in the Manavgat Gençler neighborhood heading towards Akseki triggered the alarm for the teams of the Manavgat District Gendarmerie Command Central Gendarmerie Station and the Regional Traffic Station. Upon arrival at the scene, the teams found the vehicle with license plate 07 JZ 035 in a single-vehicle accident, while a bag containing identification and personal belongings, believed to belong to the driver, was found inside the vehicle. However, the person driving the vehicle could not be located despite all searches.



SEARCHES CONTINUED INTO THE LATER HOURS OF THE NIGHT



After reaching the relatives of the driver, identified from the ID found in the vehicle as Ela Ç, the gendarmerie teams reported that the driver had stated to them that she had breast and cervical cancer and did not want to live anymore, raising concerns that she might have committed suicide. Consequently, teams from the Manavgat District Gendarmerie Command Central Gendarmerie Station, Commando, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue, Fire Department, AFAD, and Gendarmerie Search dogs were dispatched to the scene. No results were obtained from the searches that continued into the later hours of the night.



FOUND SLEEPING AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE



Exactly 24 hours after the incident, a citizen residing in the Sarılar neighborhood reported that he was a friend of the accident victim Ela Ç and that she was at his house in Sarılar. Upon going to the given address, the teams took Ela Ç and brought her to the Central Gendarmerie Station. It was reported that Ela Ç did not have any significant illness as she had told her relatives, and after the accident, she had hitchhiked to Manavgat, going to her friend's house in the Sarılar neighborhood, where she had the key, and fell asleep.
