Gastronomy writer Vedat Milor responded on his social media account to the "covert advertising" investigation initiated by the Ministry of Trade regarding the video related to the City Restaurant owned by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
Milor stated that he has not accepted invitations from any establishment and acts completely independently, saying, "I would like to remind my principles due to the recent developments: To remain neutral and independent, I do not accept invitations from any restaurant. I choose the places I will go entirely by myself and pay the bill."
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
The General Directorate of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance of the Ministry of Trade had initiated a "covert advertising" investigation on the grounds that Vedat Milor dined at the City Restaurant owned by IMM and shared this in a YouTube video titled "Four Dishes for 40 Lira: Is This Price Real?". As part of the investigation, a written defense was requested from Milor.
