The Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat was detained in connection with the "tender corruption" that took place in Istanbul. Police teams surrounded the entrance of the municipal building with barriers to control access. Municipal staff are entering the building by showing their ID cards.
In Istanbul, an investigation was launched after it was determined that the criminal organization led by 'Aziz İhsan Aktaş' organized tender processes by bribing mayors and senior officials of municipalities, ensuring that the tenders were awarded to their own companies. Following this decision, a detention order was issued for 47 suspects, including Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat. After the decision, police teams were dispatched to the front of the Beşiktaş Municipality building.
ARRESTED AT HIS SUMMER HOUSE It was learned that Rıza Akpolat was detained by the gendarmerie at his summer house located in the Narlı neighborhood of Edremit District in Balıkesir.
