President Erdoğan received a briefing at the crisis center established by AFAD in Istanbul regarding the earthquake that occurred in the city. After gathering information from ministers and AFAD officials, Erdoğan requested an investigation into the potential future impacts of this earthquake. It has been learned that he wanted the report to be presented first to the members of the Disaster Policies Council, which is affiliated with the Presidency, rather than directly to him.
President Erdoğan arrived in Istanbul after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Silivri in the Sea of Marmara. Erdoğan, who visited the crisis center located at the Istanbul Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate in Hasdal, was given a comprehensive briefing by the relevant ministers and officials.

It has been learned that Erdoğan, who received information from ministers and AFAD officials, requested an investigation into the potential future effects of this earthquake and instructed, "Consult with earthquake experts, include different opinions. What is the most likely scenario? Ask experts abroad as well." According to Can Coşkun from Korkusuz newspaper, Erdoğan further requested that the report to be prepared should be presented not to him personally but first to the members of the Disaster Policies Board affiliated with the Presidency.

On the other hand, after the meeting, Erdoğan made a statement on his social media account, saying, "As part of our work that started immediately after the earthquake, we just held a comprehensive meeting at our AFAD Istanbul Provincial Disaster Management. We evaluated the steps taken and to be taken to minimize the effects of the earthquake. We have given the necessary instructions for the upcoming process. Our citizens should be assured. As the state, we will continue to remain on alert 24/7 with all our units and work for our nation. Since noon, as a result of our search and rescue activities, there does not appear to be a problematic situation in the cities where the earthquake was felt."
