In California, USA, 71-year-old plastic surgeon Sarwa Aldoori, who had lost his medical license after a patient died following an aesthetic surgery in the past, was found dead in a swimming pool. While the cause of death has not yet been determined, police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Sarwa Aldoori, a 71-year-old plastic surgeon living in Bakersfield, California, was found dead on Tuesday in a swimming pool in the backyard of a luxury home.

The Kern County Coroner's Office shared Aldoori's identity with the public a day later. Police stated that the cause of Aldoori's death has not yet been determined. It was reported that the investigation into how the surgeon fell into the pool, how long he remained in the water, and whether any criminal elements were involved is ongoing.

HE LOST HIS LICENSE AFTER HIS PATIENT'S DEATH

Aldoori, who worked in obstetrics, gynecology, and cosmetic surgery for 35 years, was employed at a clinic called Bella Health and Beauty in Bakersfield.

According to California Medical Board records, Aldoori was placed under disciplinary proceedings after a patient died following a liposuction and tummy tuck surgery he performed in 2016. The patient's death was caused by fat embolism, where fat particles blocked blood vessels.

HIS LICENSE WAS REVOKED FOR FAILING TO MEET SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS

In 2021, proceedings were initiated against Aldoori on the grounds that he did not have adequate training to perform the said surgery, and he was sentenced to seven years of supervised practice.

When the California Medical Board determined that Aldoori failed to comply with supervision conditions, it was decided in 2024 that he must surrender his medical license.

DEATHS LINKED TO COSMETIC PROCEDURES IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Aldoori's death comes at a time when deaths related to cosmetic procedures are once again in the spotlight. In March, social media influencer Rachel Tussey in the US suffered severe brain damage after a tummy tuck surgery, allegedly due to an overdose of painkillers.

In May, socialite Hilde Lynn Helphenstein was found dead in a hotel room in Brazil after undergoing a cosmetic procedure, and that same month, Kenly Millan Aponte also died after a cosmetic surgery in Florida.
