According to a Bloomberg report based on senior sources in Moscow, the Kremlin now regards the advanced weapons and intelligence support provided by Western countries to Kiev as a direct attack by NATO states. The report details also state that the Russian military plans to intensify conventional ballistic missile strikes targeting critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine's capital, Kiev, and other major cities.

Amid the tension between the two countries, the sighting of a US military cargo plane over Moscow's skies, with CIA Director John Ratcliffe on board, caused a major stir. The announcement regarding the repetition of this high-level visit, last conducted by William Burns in 2021, came directly from Donald Trump. The US President, describing the contact as a semi-routine visit, stated that they are working very intensely behind the scenes to end the Russia-Ukraine war and that both Moscow and Kiev seem quite ready to reach a compromise.

In his statements, Trump also devoted considerable time to developments in the Middle East, declaring that the US Navy has fully taken control of the Strait of Hormuz and that all mines in the sea have been cleared. Trump noted that 22 boats attempting to enter the strait without permission were destroyed, emphasizing that the strait is open to traffic and that 10 million barrels of oil are safely transported daily.
