Fiorentina has reached an agreement with the player and Galatasaray regarding the transfer of Nicolo Zaniolo, who was loaned to Atalanta at the beginning of the season. The approval of Atalanta, which holds the purchase option for the Italian footballer, is awaited.
Nicolo Zaniolo, who was loaned from Galatasaray to Atalanta with a purchase option during the summer transfer period, may change teams once again during the winter transfer window.
FIORENTINA, GALATASARAY, AND ZANIOLO HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT
According to a report from the Italian press outlet Tuttomercato, Fiorentina, which is interested in the 25-year-old footballer, has reached an agreement with Zaniolo. It was stated that Fiorentina has also reached an agreement with Galatasaray, which holds the transfer rights of Zaniolo. Atalanta had added Zaniolo to their squad on loan from Galatasaray during the summer transfer period with a conditional mandatory purchase option. It was noted that Fiorentina also has a similar transfer idea for the 25-year-old footballer.
ATALANTA IS NOT WARM TO THE IDEA
It was reported that Atalanta is waiting for approval regarding Zaniolo's transfer. Ademola Lookman, who is injured at Atalanta, is expected to be sidelined for about a month. The Italian team is not keen on Zaniolo's departure without filling the position of the 27-year-old footballer.
ATALANTA'S PURCHASE OPTION
The statement regarding Zaniolo's transfer from Galatasaray to Atalanta is as follows:
"An agreement has been reached with Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio S.R.L. for the temporary transfer of our professional footballer Nicolo Zaniolo with a conditional mandatory purchase option for the 2024-2025 season.
According to the agreement, Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio S.R.L. will pay our company a temporary transfer fee of 6,400,000 Euros.
In the event that the purchase option is exercised, the definitive transfer fee will be 15,500,000 Euros. Additionally, a conditional bonus of up to 2,000,000 Euros is included in the agreement."
ZANIOLO'S SEASON PERFORMANCE
Nicolo Zaniolo has played in 23 matches for Atalanta this season. Zaniolo has recorded 3 goals and 3 assists in these matches. The Italian footballer, who transferred from Roma to Galatasaray for 15 million Euros during the winter transfer window of the 2022-2023 season, currently has a market value of 18 million Euros and is under contract with the yellow-reds until 2027.
