AK Party's Hüseyin Yayman: Bahçeli's statements are of historical significance.

The Chairman of the Digital Media Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and AK Party Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman held a press conference at the TBMM to evaluate the agenda.

Yayman stated, "From now on, it is the turn of the DEM Party and İmralı to take steps. İmralı is historically faced with a dilemma: will it be remembered as the leader of the world's largest terrorist organization that poisoned the thousand-year brotherhood of Turks and Kurds, or will it go down in history by defending the brotherhood of Turks and Kurds at all costs and fulfilling its historical responsibility in this matter?"

AK Party Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman, in his press conference at the TBMM, noted that he met with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli last week, stating, "What is the name of this process? This process is not a new solution process. It is not a solution process either. The name of this process is a terror-free Turkey and a 100-year brotherhood project that befits the 100th anniversary of our Republic. As you all know very well, this has been said many times. We are united and together against an understanding that seeks to pit the descendants of Selahattin Eyyubi against the descendants of Sultan Alparslan," he added. Yayman continued:

"THIS ISSUE IS NOT RELATED TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL PROCESS"

"There are some comments that want to sacrifice this issue to daily politics. Everyone can make comments, but it must be said that this issue is neither related to a new constitutional process nor to the process of our esteemed President running for office again. Because when our President made his approach in 2004, saying, 'If there is a problem, it is the Kurdish problem. It is my issue,' there was no presidential issue. In the democratic opening process that started in 2009 at the Police Academy, there was again no presidential calculation or approach from our esteemed President. In the national unity, brotherhood, and solution process in 2013, there was again no daily political calculation.

"THIS PROCESS IS A TERROR-FREE TURKEY PROCESS"

This issue is a matter above politics. Today, despite differences in methods, I find the understanding of unity regarding the solution of this issue among the ruling party, opposition, and other parties with groups in the Parliament, from the AK Party to the CHP, MHP, and others, to be very positive in terms of the beginning of the process.

This process is a terror-free Turkey process and is truly a process of brotherhood, unity, and the removal of terrorism from Turkey in the 100th year of our Republic. It is a process of freeing DEM politics from the tutelage of terrorism and the PKK.

"THE TURN TO TAKE STEPS IS WITH DEM"

In a discussion that has arisen regarding this issue, the approach is about what the internal front issue is and what the external threats in this matter are. The internal front is the feeling of belonging of 85 million people as equal and first-class citizens to this country, feeling a sense of belonging to our Republic in its 101st year. The words of Mr. Devlet Bahçeli are historic. It is a statement that breaks the clichés and tears down the walls, and it is historically significant that Devlet Bahçeli, who has dedicated his life to Turkish nationalism and opposed the PKK terrorist organization throughout his political life, has taken the initiative in this matter. He has broken the clichés and unveiled all the masks. He has revealed everyone's true position. On one hand, he has said 'Öcalan is our will' to Kandil and DEM, and on the other hand, he has said 'bring it on.'

At this point, as the People's Alliance, the stance of those who desire a democracy-oriented political institution in Turkey and a politics free of terrorism is clear. DEM must distance itself from the PKK and the PKK terrorist organization must abandon its desire to carry arms. Therefore, in the coming days, we will see this clearly. The turn to take steps is now with DEM, and DEM is aware of its historical responsibility.

"TURKEY'S SECURITY WAS UNDER THREAT"

Yayman stated, "If the Olive Branch Operation had not taken place and if Turkey's cross-border operations had not occurred, unfortunately, Turkey's security was under threat. We saw the positions established in Afrin. This has actually been eliminated by the will of the Republic of Turkey and our President.

Today, we can clearly see American soldiers and Israeli intelligence units in Kamışlı and Deir ez-Zor. Here, imperialist powers, primarily America and Israel, want to create a terrorist state by backing up and forming a terrorist corridor. I believe the most important issue behind Mr. Bahçeli's statements is to thwart the games of the imperialists by preventing Turkey from becoming Syrianized and Lebanese, and to ensure that Turkey moves towards a brighter future, in line with the Turkey Century," he said. Yayman added:

"THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE PKK TO REMAIN IN THE MOUNTAINS ANYMORE"

"This issue is not about solving a Kurdish problem. This issue is about increasing Turkey's democratic capacity. This issue is about enhancing Turkey's problem-solving ability. This issue is about closing Turkey's democracy gap. The PKK terrorist organization was established in 1978. It is the world's largest terrorist organization and has been in the mountains for 50 years.

There is no longer any reason for it to remain in the mountains. Because the HEP established in 1990, later DEP, all the demands they expressed in the conditions of the 1990s have been realized. Today, there is a Kurdish radio and television broadcast that broadcasts 24 hours a day. The Kurdish Institute has been established. There are departments of Kurdish Language and Literature. Kurdish is taught as an elective course. Similarly, the state of emergency practices in Turkey have come to an end. The regional governorship has been abolished.

"BAHÇELI'S STATEMENTS ARE HISTORIC"

There is no longer a Kurdish problem. There is a terrorism problem, and ending terrorism is an existential issue for Turkey, and this is what befits our thousand-year brotherhood. We need to eliminate the wall of terrorism that is intended to be built between Turks and Kurds. We need to demonstrate this brotherhood, unity, and togetherness. By learning from past experiences, it is as valuable as the process itself to manage a new period in a calmer, more grounded, more realistic, and more pragmatic way.

I would like to emphasize that Mr. Bahçeli's statements are of great historical significance and that they need to be understood correctly by society, that there is definitely no daily calculation behind these words, and that as the People's Alliance, the aim is to open a new process in a brotherhood that befits the unity and togetherness of Turkey and the Turkey Century.

"I DID NOT MAKE THIS STATEMENT WITH ANY INFORMATION"

In response to a question, Yayman said, "I did not make these statements with any information or mission. The People's Alliance and Mr. Devlet Bahçeli have taken the first step."

From now on, the next step is up to the DEM Party and İmralı. İmralı is historically faced with a dilemma. They could not read the situation correctly. The issue is this: The PKK terrorist organization preferred the policies of the United States of America against the policies of the Republic of Turkey. This is the process that took place in 2013. In 2013, the PKK terrorist organization was promised by America and Israel to establish a small state in northern Syria, which ended the process.

"NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME FOR THE PKK TERRORIST ORGANIZATION TO LAY DOWN ITS ARMS"

If we are talking about a major problem, the solution will also be very difficult. It will be arduous. But here, everyone needs to take a step back and think calmly.
