AK Party Secretary General Eyyüp Kadir İnan accused New Party Chairman Özgür Özel and his party of targeting those fighting fund fraud. İnan, saying that they had "solved the operation" against their party and the government, stated that they would seek legal accountability for the attacks against their party.
AK Party Secretary General İnan, responded to allegations leveled against his party and the government during the fund investigation in a live broadcast he appeared on NTV. Arguing that the allegations were “lies and slander,” İnan strongly attacked the New Party.
“WE ARE FIGHTING THE FUND DEVILS”
Stating that they were fighting fund fraud, İnan claimed that the New Party was targeting those who carried out this fight. İnan said, “Here, we are fighting those who expose this fraud, these fund devils. But Özgür Özel and his friends are targeting the people who fight against whatever effort is put forward in this struggle.”
FETÖ COMPARISON
Claiming that the New Party had displayed a similar attitude before, İnan said, “We saw this from Özgür Özel and his friends before as well. While we were fighting FETÖ members, vile FETÖ members, they preferred to target those who fought against FETÖ members.”
“WE WILL NEVER LET AN OPERATION BE CARRIED OUT”
Claiming that there was an attempt to carry out an operation against their party and the government, İnan said, “In no way will we ever let an operation be carried out against our party and our government, whether by those under the guise of the New Party or by these verbal instruments disguised as hired journalists.”
İnan also stressed that those involved in wrongdoing would not be protected:
“As a party, we will neither allow any wrongdoing here to be covered up if anyone is involved in it, nor will we sacrifice a single friend, a single party member, or a single minister to these lies, these slanders, these social media operations.”
“WE SOLVED THE OPERATION, IT BLEW UP IN THEIR HANDS”
Claiming that the operation in question had been exposed as of yesterday, İnan said, “We already saw the operation here as of yesterday; it blew up in their hands. We also solved the operation.” İnan also stated that they would continue to explain those behind the matter to the public.
“WE WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE ON LEGAL GROUNDS”
Announcing that they would resort to legal means, İnan said, “Legally, too, we will seek account, one by one on legal grounds, for all our rights and for all attacks against our party’s legal entity.”
İnan concluded his remarks directed at the New Party as follows:
“However, Özgür Özel and his friends will certainly pay the price for these lies and slanders they have told, both at the ballot box and in the presence of our nation, and on every kind of political ground.”
