AK Party Spokesperson Çelik responds to Yapıcıoğlu: We have no discussion regarding Article 4 of the Constitution.

The AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik responded to the statement of HUDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu, saying "Let there not be the 4th article of the Constitution." Çelik stated, "We have no discussion regarding the 4 articles of the Constitution. The proposed amendments are not positive for us."

The AK Party Central Executive Board (MYK) met under the chairmanship of President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements to the press after the MYK meeting. Çelik responded to HUDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu's statement "Let there not be the 4th article of the Constitution."

AK PARTY SPOKESPERSON ÇELİK: NO DISCUSSION REGARDING THE 4TH ARTICLE OF THE CONSTITUTION

Çelik stated, "We have no discussion regarding the 4 articles of the Constitution. The proposed amendments are not positive for us. This has been asked before when certain agendas were present. We want a civilian constitution, a constitution that will carry Turkey to the Turkey Century. We want a constitution that will be the foundation of national will. There is no discussion regarding the 4 articles."

YAPICIOĞLU: I SAID IT LIKE EXPLAINING TO A FOOL, LET THERE NOT BE THE 4TH ARTICLE

Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu said the following during a live broadcast: "I said it like explaining to a fool, yet they insist on not understanding. We say, let there not be the 4th article of the constitution. Let me say it again looking at the camera. We say, let there not be the 4th article of the constitution.

Having unchangeable articles in the constitution does not mean that we want to change all the articles that you call unchangeable. We are against the 4th article of the constitution. Do you understand? It is putting a mortgage on the will of future generations. Let's sit down together and write the other articles. Not the first 4 articles, but the 4th article.

THE 4TH ARTICLE OF THE CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 4- The provision in the 1st article of the Constitution stating that the form of the State is the Republic, the provisions in the 2nd article regarding the qualities of the Republic, and the provisions in the 3rd article cannot be changed and cannot be proposed to be changed.
