According to the latest weather forecast report published by the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), Turkey is entering under the influence of a new rainy weather wave. As of today, thunderstorms are expected in most parts of the country.
MGM announced that showers are expected in all provinces except Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Şırnak, Hakkari, and Van. Particularly in Inner Aegean, Eastern Mediterranean, Bursa, Balıkesir, and the north and east of Central Anatolia, rainfall is expected to be strong.
YELLOW CODE FLOOD ALARM FOR 5 PROVINCES
The Meteorology issued a yellow code warning stating that rainfall will be very strong in Adana, Hatay, Mersin, Kahramanmaraş, and Osmaniye. Authorities emphasized that citizens should be careful against sudden floods, water overflows, lightning, hail, and disruptions in transportation.
It is estimated that rainfall will intensify locally around Osmaniye and in the north and east of Adana, as well as the west of Kahramanmaraş.
STRONG WIND EXPECTED IN SOUTHEAST
Along with the rain, strong winds will be effective in the west of the Southeastern Anatolia Region after noon. The Meteorology also warned against roof blow-offs, falling trees, and possible adversities in transportation.
RAINFALL TO LAST UNTIL MONDAY
According to forecasts, the rainy weather wave will continue throughout the week. It was stated that thunderstorms will be seen in all 81 provinces across Turkey, especially on Thursday and Saturday.
Experts stated that citizens should follow up-to-date meteorological warnings and avoid traffic in adverse weather conditions unless absolutely necessary.
